Affirmations for Connection

I wanted to start this week’s post with some thoughts. Technology is killing our connection with others. While you may claim that social media sites keep you connected with your friends and family, it’s destroying the connection you have with those directly in your sphere. I think we need to start asking some important questions about these “social” connections. In other words, are the people you’re connected with on social media actually important to you? So important that you’re ignoring your family for hours at a time? When you get to the end of your life, do you think you’re going to say “I really wish I watched more reels?” Or “I really wish I had more hours with my family?”

I realize there are some nuances. As an introvert, I love and crave my alone time. But I also recognize the path of loneliness that being alone all of the brings. Even further, the more we are interacting online and not in person, the more we lose our humanity. Our children are learning from these behaviors. We must be intentional about connecting with others. Family. Friends. Co-workers. We were not meant to live life alone.
